Authorities Identify Wheeling Man Killed in Snowmobile Accident
The local man plunged through the open waters of Lake Geneva while snowmobiling Sunday night.
A 53-year-old Wheeling man who died following a snowmobile accident Sunday night in Lake Geneva has been identified as Mark G. Reninger, the Daily Herald reports. The man was snowmobiling with a Long Grove man from Fontana to Lake Geneva when his snowmobile plunged through the open waters of Lake Geneva.
The Long Grove man was able to avoid crashing into the open water by jumping off his snowmobile, according to CBS Chicago. He was treated for hypothermia.
Emergency crews had a hard time getting to the accident scene because of open water, according to WISN Milwaukee.
