Woman's Wallet Stolen From Shopping Cart: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Janier D. Perez Gomez, 24, of the 1900 block of N. Green Lane, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, failure to remain at a car accident, and was arrested at 1:32 a.m. Aug. 1, in the 800 block of Plum Grove Circle. He was released after posting $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Sept. 8.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

Police responded to CVS Pharmacy, 20 E. Dundee, at 8:43 a.m. July 28, for a retail theft report. An employee told police two subjects stole various items from the store and left in an unknown direction.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

• A resident in the 800 block of Saxon Place reported at 11 a.m. July 28, that the catalytic converter was stolen from his car while it was parked in his driveway.
• A citizen reported July 31, that while her car was parked in the 1200 block of E. Deerfield Parkway two days earlier, someone stole the car's catalytic converter, valued at $500.

THEFT

A customer at Garden Fresh Market, 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road, reported at 6:44 p.m. July 30, that her wallet was taken from her shopping cart by someone while she was shopping.
