New Allergy Clinic Opening at Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge

Loyola University Health System is starting a state-of-the-art sinus allergy program at the Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge.

The program will provide nasal, sinus and allergy screening, patient education and treatment for seasonal allergies (tree, grass and weed pollen) and perennial allergies (dust mites, molds, dogs, cats and cockroaches).

The program director is Dr. Monica Patadia, an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology (ear-nose-throat) at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Patadia's fellowship training included treatment of inhalant allergies and various sinonasal complaints.

"Upwards of 20 percent of the U. S. population suffer from allergic rhinitis," Patadia said. "Once we determine what a patient is allergic to, we can treat him or her with environmental measures, medications and/or allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots)."

 The Loyola Center for Health opened earlier this year. It is the largest academic medical center outpatient facility in the western suburbs. It is located at 6800 N. Frontage Road, just off County Line Road and the Stevenson and Tri-State expressways.
