BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police have charged a man with battering an Uber driver and responded to a woman who reported her coonhound's uncontrollable barking at a house on 87th Street. Here is more information from the Burr Ridge Police Department's latest blotter:

  • Mitchell J. Mulvihill, 20, was arrested about 3 a.m. Dec. 21 at County Line Road and Fieldstone Drive on charges of battery and consumption of alcohol by a minor. He is accused of battering an Uber driver.
  • Linda L. Perea was cited for not having a valid driver's license and failing to yield about 8 a.m. Dec. 20 at Carriage Way and County Line Road. Police said Perea was driving a 2014 Ford when she failed to yield and struck another car at an intersection. An ambulance took the other driver to the hospital.
  • ADT is a company that specializes in security, but one of its vans caused a resident on Timber Ridge Drive to feel insecure about 8:30 a.m. Dec. 20. The resident called police to say an ADT work van was in a driveway and seemed suspicious. Police determined an ADT technician was at a house on a call and was not involved in criminal activity.
  • All appliances were reported missing about 1 p.m. Dec. 20 from a vacant house in the 10 block of Hanover Court. An employee of Swift Resolutions, a property preservation company, reported the theft. The employee did not know the last time someone was supposed to have been in the house. The employee also did not know which appliances were considered missing and which bank currently owned the house. An officer asked the employee to have his company or the bank contact the police with more information if they wanted a police report.
  • The owner of a coonhound reported that her dog barked uncontrollably on three separate occasions in front of a house on 87th Street. On Dec. 20, she requested an officer check the house for suspicious activity. An officer found the house dilapidated, but all doors were secure. There were three open windows, but no signs of obvious criminal activity. The home appears to have been abandoned for quite some time.
  • A hit-and-run crash was reported about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at Kerkstra's Cleaners, 102 Burr Ridge Parkway. Someone struck the driver's door and rear passenger door of a 2020 Toyota Corolla while it was parked and unoccupied.
  • An ambulance took a customer of Wine County Merchant, 208 Burr Ridge Parkway, to the hospital because she was incoherent. Employees said they served her just one glass of wine, but overheard her saying she was at a restaurant beforehand.
  • A man in dark clothing tried to open the driver's door of a 2012 Volvo that was parked and locked in the owner's driveway about 7 a.m. Dec. 21. The man then got into a dark SUV and left north on Drew Avenue. Police were unable to find the suspect.
  • An unlocked 2012 Ford Truck with the keys inside was reported stolen from the owner's driveway about 9 a.m. Dec. 21 in the 300 block of 93rd Place. The car was found abandoned by a DuPage County sheriff's deputy in the 95300 block of Brookbank Road.
  • A resident informed police about 11:30 p.m. Dec. 21 that two people were on a deck shooting airsoft guns toward County Line Road, possibly striking some cars. A father and son admitted to shooting the airsoft guns from the deck into the yard. They said the plastic pellets did not reach County Line Road. They asked police to contact them if someone reported a damaged car.
  • An employee at Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, 510 Village Center Drive, told police a co-worker spit in his face during an argument about 1 p.m. Dec. 22. The co-worker was sent home by a manager before an officer's arrival.
