Body Pulled from Des Plaines River Monday Morning

Some say they saw a man jump from the La Grange Road overpass.

The body of a man was recovered Monday morning from the Des Plaines River around La Grange Road.

The Pleasantview Fire Protection District was called around 9:40 a.m. for a report of a person in the water, said fire chief John Buckley, and additional assistance was called.

Buckley said they used their boats, and around 11 a.m., they found the deceased person in the river. They brought him to shore and turned him over to Illinois State Police.

Buckley said he doesn’t know if the death is suspicious.
