Burr Ridge Asked To Enforce Parking In Private Neighborhood
In the summer, a subdivision resident called a woman pedestrian a "hillbilly," saying she had no right to walk there, according to a report.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A resident in a private Burr Ridge subdivision requested police assistance with parking violations more than a week ago. This is a neighborhood where the city confirmed earlier this year that others have no right to walk there.
According to a police report, an officer double-checked and found the village had no agreement with the Savoy Club Court subdivision to enforce parking rules. No parking signs are posted in the subdivision, police said.
When a police officer called the resident who complained, the person said the homeowners association is seeking both an agreement and parking signs, the report said.

The officer called a registered owner of one of the cars apparently parked in violation and told the person not to park there again, police said.
The resident in the Savoy Club Court subdivision was seeking help from the village just months after a neighbor got into an argument with a woman who walked into the neighborhood.

The resident told the woman she had no right to walk in a private subdivision, according to a police report. She said he called her a "bitch" and a "hillbilly."
When Burr Ridge Patch asked the village about the incident, officials did not have an immediate explanation about whether people could walk into the neighborhood. Later, the village said the subdivision was privately owned and maintained, but has a public access easement, which give service and emergency vehicles the right to enter but not pedestrians.
At the entrance of the subdivision on 79th Street, there is what appears to be a guard shack and a sign reading, "Private Community." It is not gated, and no signs indicate that pedestrians are prohibited.
