Burr Ridge Churches And Venues Cooperating: Mayor
Village checks to see whether major venues in town are complying with governor's order.
BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge is seeing cooperation with Gov. J.B. Pritzker's order prohibiting gatherings of more than 50 people, Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso said in a statement Wednesday. He has found cooperation among houses of worship and other major venues in minimizing the effects of the coronavirus.
Grasso said he has contacted all the houses of worship in Burr Ridge and learned that all of them are practicing the recommendations being advocated, including canceling gatherings and conducting smaller services. He noted senior centers have confirmed they are instituting proactive health measures.
He also said the village's two major fitness centers, Lifetime and Five Seasons, are closed while the emergency persists. "Please consider purchasing a gift card from these establishments for future use so that they may be supported during this time," the mayor said.
