The discussion is in response to a petition from restaurant owners who would like to permit video gambling in Burr Ridge restaurants.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Video gambling in Burr Ridge will be discussed at the upcoming village board meeting on June 11. According to a memo from the village administrator, the discussion is in response to a petition from restaurant owners who would like to permit video gambling in Burr Ridge restaurants.
The issue was first discussed at the April 23 meeting. According to a letter to HOAs in Burr Ridge, a decision on the issue could be made at the meeting or discussion could be continued.
According to the petition from restaurant owners, restaurants and hotels in Burr Ridge are losing business to surrounding towns due to the popularity of video gambling. Darien, Willowbrook, Countryside, Indian Head Park and Lemont all allow video gambling and are "pulling away revenue" from Burr Ridge.
