Burr Ridge Man Dies In Indiana Toll Road Crash

Indiana State Police say Ashay Kparker, 41 of Burr Ridge was killed during a crash early Monday. Here's what contributed to his death.

PORTER COUNTY, IN — Indiana State Police say a Burr Ridge man was killed Monday morning in a crash on the Indiana Toll Road. According to police, 41-year-old Ashay Kparker died on scene after crashing his 2018 Infinity and driving without wearing a seatbelt.

ISP says in a release that a preliminary investigation revealed that at 12:03 a.m. Kparker was headed westbound on the Indiana Toll Road at the 28 mile marker, two miles west of the State Road 49 exit, when he drove off the roadway and hit a guardrail on the south side of the road.

Police say this caused the car to dive into the grassy median, where Kparker was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner with the Porter County Coroner's Office.

Officials say Kparker died of blunt force trauma and not wearing a seatbelt contributed to those fatal injuries.

Several Porter County law enforcement members and EMS were also on scene.

ISP wants to remind motorists that their Operation Pull Over Click It or Ticket runs through June 3, as police and their local law enforcement partners will be targeting those violating seatbelt and child restraint laws, plus dangerous, impaired or aggressive driving.
