Burr Ridge Native Earns All American Honors

Lewis University Student Cody Curin earns honors in mediation competition.

Lewis University Junior Cody Curin of Burr Ridge earned “All-American honors in the national mediation competition. Curin is majoring in criminal/social justice at the Romeoville school.

The Lewis University mediation team won second place in advocacy in the final national championship competition at the International Academy of Dispute Resolution's National Tournament. It was the third time the Lewis University team made it into the final four round. The second place in advocacy and eighth place in the mediation category makes it the best overall finish for the team since it started competing in five years ago.

Curin earned 11th-place in Mediation and became the first Lewis University student in three years to earn an All-American title in that category. The pairing of Curin and Jennifer Merzlock of Joliet won third place and All-American honors in Advocacy. Merzlock and Curin pairing won All-American titles two years ago as well.
