Burr Ridge Plant Closing This Summer; Layoffs Expected

The company is consolidating production to its other locations.

BURR RIDGE, IL – A meal-prep company plans to close its Burr Ridge plant as it consolidates production to other places.

Factor, formerly associated with HelloFresh, told Patch it will not renew its lease at its facility at 340 Shore Drive in Burr Ridge.

In an email last week, Factor spokesperson Abigail Dreher said the local site has been part of its network since before the firm's 2020 acquisition.

"Since then, the business has grown exponentially; as a result, this site no longer meets our operational needs," she said.

Factor has invested significantly in modern infrastructure in the rest of its network, Dreher said.

The company, she said, is supporting affected employees through the transition with outplacement resources, financial help and transfer opportunities.

Layoffs are expected to start July 25. The facility has 254 employees.

The local plant closing is among several recently across the state.
