Burr Ridge ‘White Glove’ Firm Broke Village Condition: Official
Now, the company wants a permanent permit for its operation. The Village Board is set to decide.
BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge business is seeking a permit to use its property to store semi-truck cabs. But it acknowledged violating a key condition of its temporary permit issued two years ago.
In 2020, the Village Board allowed M&T Truck Sales to keep up to 14 semi-truck cabs on its property. It is at the northeast corner of Frontage Road and Madison Street, which has been historically used for restaurants.
Last week, the Plan Commission recommended approval of a permanent special use for car, truck and equipment sales, rental and service for the site. It voted 3-2 for a temporary use as an overnight site for the storage of vehicles. It needed four votes to make a recommendation.

According to the meeting minutes, Plan Commission member Barry Irwin said M&T Truck Sales ignored the condition for a year. He said the business was now also parking cars on the site, which makes the area look worse than if it were just a driveway.
Irwin noted that the property was meant to be a “white glove” office, where customers completed final paperwork and picked up trucks. But he said the plan had changed and trucks are now sitting on the property for long times.

Owner Michael Criscione acknowledged instances in which the business has had more than 14 trucks parked on the property because of circulating inventory. He said he has invested significantly in improving the property and received compliments from Burr Ridge residents, according to the minutes.
Criscione requested the number of trucks be increased from 14, but would comply if the number remain unchanged. He said no maintenance occurs on site.
The commission’s chairman, Greg Trzupek, supported increasing the number of trucks allowed on the property.
With the 3-2 vote, the commission agreed on 20, though the vote did not meet the threshold for a recommendation.
The Village Board is set to take up the issue Monday.
