Coronavirus: Burr Ridge Cop Tests Negative After Likely Exposure

The officer self-isolated during the testing period, mayor says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A Burr Ridge police officer who required coronavirus testing because of "presumed" exposure has tested negative, the town's mayor announced Monday evening. "He self-isolated during the testing period and has now rejoined our great police force," Mayor Gary Grasso said in his daily bulletin on the virus Monday.

On another note, the mayor said Police Chief John Madden assured him the police department has sufficient personal protective equipment for officers during the pandemic.

As of Monday, Burr Ridge had 22 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, according to the health departments in DuPage and Cook counties. It was an increase of two from the previous day.
