Dennis DeYoung (from Styx) & CCR & Chicago Bears Band

Friday night July 4 Dennis DeYoung of Burr Ridge brings his "Music of Styx" concert tour to Festival Park in Elgin next to Grand Victoria Casino.

Any current Dennis DeYoung show could be called "Over 40 Years of Lady" since that song first came out in 1973.

The history of Dennis DeYoung & Styx began in Chicago when their first album was released in 1972. Dennis co-wrote the hit song "Best Thing" on that first "Styx" album, leading up to "Styx II" (with Lady) the following year.

Since then, Dennis has had many hits and his concerts can include: Babe, Best Of Times, Born For Adventure, Castle Walls. Come Sail Away, Desert Moon, Don't Let It End, Grand Illusion, Lady, Lorelei, Mr. Roboto, 100 Years From Now, Rockin' The Paradise, Show Me The Way, Suite Madame Blue and The Message; he also includes other Styx songs such as Blue Collar Man, Fooling Yourself, Renegade & Too Much Time On My Hands.

When not on-stage, Dennis has been seen around Chicago at a Zanies Comedy Club (in the audience) but it's no secret that he'd rather be a stand-up comic - just listen to his jokes between songs. Dennis was also seen a few days ago with rock star Sting (from The Police) at the Chicago premiere of the new Sting musical The Last Ship. In the accompanying photo with Sting, the comedic Dennis would say "You got my good side!"

The Dennis DeYoung Band features Dennis & wife Suzanne (from Burr Ridge) with other local legends John Blasucci & Tom Sharpe, plus Craig Carter & Jimmy Leahey & August Zadra.

Their concert is this Friday night the 4th of July with the legendary "CCR" & "Chicago 6 Band" of former Chicago Bears at Festival Park next to Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin.
