I-55 Lane Closures Start Friday, Continue All Weekend
Northbound I-55 lane closures will be in effect Friday night through Monday morning between Bolingbrook and Burr Ridge.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Lane closures will begin on northbound I-55 this Friday night and are expected to last throughout the weekend, causing an extra headache for west suburban residents who plan on heading out of town. The closure will affect a seven-mile stretch of highway to accommodate an ongoing resurfacing project.
According to IDOT, lanes will be closed between I-355 in Bolingbrook and County Line Road in Burr Ridge. The lane closures will be in effect from 9 p.m. Friday, June 16 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 19. The larger scale I-55 resurfacing project is expected to improve the roadway throughout the western suburbs and to wrap up in fall of 2017.
IDOT recommends allowing extra travel times or considering alternate routes this weekend.
