Layoffs At Agency Serving Hinsdale, Darien And Burr Ridge

Sewer district asks for police to stand by while two employees are laid off, report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A government entity with a territory that includes Burr Ridge, Darien, Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills laid off two employees recently and asked for officers to be on standby, according to a police report. The Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District wanted officers to be on hand when the two employees were terminated, police said.

The officers stood outside during the layoffs, which took place shortly before noon April 10. No problems occurred, and no further assistance was needed, police said.

The Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District, previously known as the Hinsdale Sanitary District, was formed under the Sanitary District Act of 1917, according to the agency's website. The district's mandate is to provide sewer collection, conveyance, and treatment of sanitary waste to protect the health and welfare of the communities it serves, the site says.
