Mutts & Margaritas Event Raises $10,000 for Homeless Animals

With red carpet photo-ops, adoptable pets in sombreros and celebrity bartenders, the Hinsdale Humane Society Ambassadors came away from their first fundraiser with $10,000 for homeless animals, according to a news release.

Mutts & Margaritas, held Sept. 24, brought people to CiNe Modern Taqueria for a charitable evening. The restaurant donated a portion of the evening’s profits, and money was raised through a silent auction and a wine pull.

The Ambassadors formed in 2014 as a volunteer group of 22 local women who raise awareness through community events about the Hinsdale Humane Society and its outreach programs.

“We are so fortunate to have a strong foundation of volunteers supporting us, and we are thrilled to add the unique skills of the Ambassadors to our family,” said HHS Board Member, Christie Cuthbert, in the news release.

The Ambassadors are working on upcoming events, such as a Pictures with Santa photo session for families and pets on Nov. 29, 2014.
