BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso said Wednesday he was looking at a "younger" candidate to replace the retiring village administrator. And it appears that he is settling on someone much younger — Evan Walter, the village's assistant village administrator.

The Village Board's agenda for its Monday meeting revealed that Grasso was recommending Walter to replace Administrator Doug Pollock, who is leaving Nov. 6 and receiving $38,000 in severance pay. Walter's salary will be discussed at the meeting, according to the agenda.

Walter has been with the village since May 2017, starting out as assistant to the village administrator and being promoted to assistant village administrator two years later.
