New Burr Ridge Virus Cases Not In Nursing Homes: Mayor

Wear masks properly and don't shake hands, Mayor Gary Grasso says.

In his regular coronavirus statement Friday, Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso said the new cases locally are outside of nursing homes. The village, he said, has seen 32 new cases in 16 days.

"We have had only 30 cases in our nursing homes, almost all of which occurred weeks ago now," Grasso said. "I appreciate that testing has greatly increased and that may be a partial comfort, and maybe those infected are experiencing less severity or no symptoms, but to me that is not as important as the sheer, dramatic increase we are recording in the Village of Burr Ridge."

Grasso also noted worrying trends.
