Neighbor News

Newcomers & Neighbors New Member Event at Graue Mill Thursday, Nov. 6, 1:00PM

It can be hard to transition to a new home, city or life change. Come join us. We can make a difference.

Newcomers & Neighbors of the Greater Hinsdale Area is a non-profit social club, an area institution for more than 40 years that welcomes new residents and established neighbors looking to “Connect, Make Friends, and Have Fun.” Members are primarily residents of Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Clarendon Hills, Burr Ridge, and Westmont.

The club has many activities to participate in depending on your interests and availability. Being involved in a welcoming group can ease the transition of moving in to a new neighborhood or entering a new stage of life, according to members. Monthly activities include book clubs, Bunco, lunch bunch, golf, couples Euchre, poker and guy flicks. Expatriates from five continents participate, as well as some residents who have been in the area for 15 years or more. According to Co-President Nancy Hamp, “New residents keep us growing and thriving. We each remember what it was like to be new.”

If you are interested please join us Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 1:00PM - 2:30PM at the Graue Mill, 3800 York Rd., Oak Brook. RSVP to NandNmeetings@gmail.com. For information and the membership form please visit the club’s website at www.hinsdalenewcomers.org, or email newcomersandneighbors@gmail.com. Membership is $40 per year.
