Northbound I-55 Roadwork To Close Lanes, Snag Traffic Near Burr Ridge

BURR RIDGE, IL — Weekend travelers should allow for extra time if planning to take I-55 over the weekend. Some lane closures could cause an additional traffic snag due to ongoing roadwork that is set to resume Friday, August 4 at 9 p.m. and continue until Monday, August 7 at 5 a.m.

According to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the leftmost lane of I-55 North will be closed from Weber Road to Willow Springs Road. Motorists should allow for extra travel time to accommodate any delays.

These lane closures are part of a large-scale resurfacing project along I-55 that is expected to end in Fall 2017.
