‘Singles Paradise Beach Party’ Set for Friday, July 19th at Five Seasons Burr Ridge

On tap soon at Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Burr Ridge: tug-of-war, tennis, Twister, volleyball, pool games and prizes for winners all along the way.

No, we’re not talking about a kids’ summer camp—it’s Singles Paradise Beach Party, a six-hour event on Friday, July 19th at the club, 6901 S. Madison. Geared toward mature adults and open to the public, the event is from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a Friday, July 26th rain date.

For $30 admission, participants will enjoy a variety of treats, including music from a DJ or band, libations and “summery snacks,” said organizer Christine Walton, president of Smart Girl Network Events.

“It will be light-hearted fun for people who work too hard and play too little,” Walton said. “Because it’s in our backyard and offers the perfect environment to let loose for a few hours, Five Seasons is the perfect place to serve this particular group.”

The games will consist of team races and individual relays, in an atmosphere where individuals will be comfortable coming on their own or with friends.

“There will be plenty of ways for people break the ice,” Walton said. “This is a way to re-create the fun and the overall feeling of college parties in a classy, upscale environment.”

The centerpiece of the action will be Five Seasons’ spacious outdoor pool, which for years has served as one of the region’s best summertime attractions. Walton, a member of Five Seasons, said the event is especially targeted to 35- to 55-year-old active adults, though younger and older party-goers are also welcome.

“There’s a huge group of people who identify themselves between couch potatoes and serious athletes,” said Walton. “This will appeal to anyone who wants a low-stress, more active alternative to the dinner-and-drinks routine of social get-togethers.”
