Trinity Presbyterian Church is delighted to announce that it will host the Hinsdale for Haiti Bluegrass Christmas benefit concert 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, at The Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., Hinsdale. The holiday sing-a-long for the entire family will feature veteran folk and country singer-songwriter Jodee Lewis and Trinity Presbyterian Church’s house band.
This fun and relaxed evening promises a meaningful way to bring together friends and neighbors while supporting the larger effort to provide safe drinking water to the orphanage and community of Cavaillon, Haiti, where residents endure extreme poverty, often surviving on less than $1 a day.

Over the last two years, Trinity has been involved in sponsoring the orphanage in Cavaillon. “Every six months, we send teams from our church to provide meals and medical supplies,” says Trinity Presbyterian Church senior pastor Geoff Ziegler. “It’s been good for our church and exciting to see slow but steady improvement in the health of these children surviving in heart- breaking conditions.”
The next step and greatest need for these orphans is safe drinking water. Trinity’s goal is to raise $30,000 to build a water purification plant with the help of Living Waters for the World, a mission-based organization that has installed more than 500 clean-water systems worldwide. Once installed, the solar-powered systems eliminate 75% of health problems people face. For details: http://www.livingwatersfortheworld.org
