BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police handled many calls in recent days, including those involving a whistling bicyclist, a dog bite and a Mercedes without tires. Here is information from the latest reports:

  • A woman walking dogs encountered a bicyclist in his 50s in the week before July 11 on Meadowbrook Drive. The man asked whether she lived in the big house on the cul-de-sac. He later whistled at her or the dogs.
  • A woman informed police July 10 that a yellow Labrador retriever bit her 4-year-old beagle, Carello, about 2:30 p.m. July 10 in the 8900 block of Glenmora. She said she only wants the owner to pay her medical bills. An officer was unable to reach anyone at the Glenmora house in question. The officer left her information. The officer came by the next day, but no one answered and no barking dogs were heard. A neighbor said the resident in question mentioned they might be going out of town.

  • A woman said three dark-skinned men with dark clothing and yellow vests used a contaminated water scam to try to enter her house about 6 p.m. July 9 on Hampton Court. The woman realized it was a ruse and had the men leave. Nothing appeared to be disturbed or missing from her home.
  • Someone stole all four tires from a 2011 Mercedes between 2:30 a.m. July 10 and 10 a.m. July 11 at 850 Village Center Drive.
