Key to Awesomeness: Garvin just finished his senior football season, during which the Red Devils went 6-3 in the regular season and lost to Mt. Carmel in the first round of the playoffs. "It was a great experience," Garvin said. "We [seniors] put Central football back on track." Garvin's senior season was full of memorable moments, but one of his favorite games was this year's Homecoming game against Lyons Township. "We came out and killed them," Garvin said. "We played a really good game. It was the best game we played as a team, which was pretty cool since they're our rivals."
The Red Devils' basketball season is also off to a good start, with the varsity team currently 3-1. Garvin, who plays forward and has been on the varsity team for three years, was excited to beat York in the team's first conference game. "Practice is going really well," he said.
What’s Next: Garvin hopes to play basketball in college, and is waiting to hear back from the schools he has applied to. Two of his top choices are New York University and Washington University in St. Louis. He's not sure what he wants to major in next year, but he's narrowed it down."I really like English," he said. "It's my favorite subject. I'm also interested in psychology and sociology." For now, though, Garvin is enjoying senior year: "[I'm looking forward to] finding out where I want to go to college and...spring break, but I'm focusing on basketball right now."
