Woman Found Dead At Home In Burr Ridge

Burr Ridge police have cited "suspicious circumstances" in the death of 56-year-old Patricia Ponce De Leon Tuesday afternoon.

BURR RIDGE, IL — The death of a 56-year-old Burr Ridge woman at her home Tuesday has been labeled as having "suspicious circumstances" by local police. An autopsy for Patricia A. Ponce De Leon is scheduled for Thursday with the Cook County Medical Examiner, with results likely available after 3 p.m.

Burr Ridge police found Ponce De Leon dead in her home in the 100 block of Easton Place at 1:39 p.m. She was transferred from the home to the Medical Examiner's Office, where it was later determined she died of external chronic ethanolism and of natural causes.

Det. Sgt. David Allen of the Burr Ridge Police Department confirmed an open investigation into the death. Allen said the victim was found by a family member and an investigation began.
