• Mayor threatens $250K in state funding after WGN Investigates report (wgntv.com) — Calumet City residents may see a tug-of-war over $250,000 in state funding for the local park district after an investigative TV report scrutinized Mayor Thaddeus Jones’ credit card spending. An email from the mayor’s city account appeared to pull support for the funds following criticism from City Clerk and park commissioner Nyota Figgs, who argues state money shouldn’t hinge on personal disputes.
