Alert: Gas Leak reported

Route 64 and LaFox Road are closed in all directions, according to a Facebook post from the Campton Hills Police Department at 11:15 a.m.

Police have requested that residents in nearby neighborhoods remain indoors. All businesses located in Campton Square have been evacuated.

The cause of the gas leak remains unknown. ABC7 Chicago has dispatched its helicopter to provide aerial views of the scene.

Construction activity was reported in the area, but officials have not confirmed whether it is related to the leak. The cause remains under investigation.
