Obama Endorses Illinois Democrat
Betsy Dirksen Londrigan is the only Illinois candidate Obama has endorsed for the 2018 Midterm elections.

CHAMPAIGN, IL — President Barack Obama announced Monday afternoon the names of additional Democratic candidates he's endorsing for the 2018 Midterm elections, including Betsy Londrigan, a former staffer for Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin. Londrigan is seeking election to the U.S. House to represent Illinois' 13th Congressional District, and is the only Illinois candidate Obama has endorsed for the Nov. 6 election. In a Facebook post (below), Londrigan thanked Obama for his endorsement.
According to Londrigan's campaign website, she's focused on prioritizing better healthcare, women's issues, social security, higher education opportunities and good-paying jobs. She will continuing fighting for the healthcare protections currently in place, as she's thankful for the medical team, insurance and community that supported her family when her son went through a medical scare, according to her campaign website.
Londrigan announced her candidacy in July 2017 and is running against Republican candidate Rodney Davis on Nov. 6. She defeated four other candidates during the Democratic primary.
