• I-57/74 ramp closure begins Tuesday evening (wcia.com) — Drivers in Champaign should prepare for a roughly two-week closure of the ramp from eastbound I-74 to southbound I-57, starting Tuesday evening, with signed detours and likely delays. IDOT urges extra travel time, slower speeds, and close attention to work-zone signs as part of its long-term rebuild of the busy I-57/74 interchange in town.
   

• Moore's Rescue Ranch and Dog Den give a second chance to 'Baby' (wcia.com) — In Champaign, Moore's Rescue Ranch and local daycare The Dog Den teamed up to save a beagle mix named Baby from possible euthanasia after multiple failed foster placements. Staff cared for her for nearly two years, even taking her home on weekends, until a board member finally adopted her, giving Baby a permanent, love-filled home.
   

• How Champaign County residents organized an AI data center resistance (cu-citizenaccess.org) — Champaign County residents, including several with University of Illinois ties, have formed "Resist AI Data Centers Champaign County" to push back against large-scale data center projects they fear could strain power, water, health, and privacy. Meeting at the Champaign Public Library and engaging the county's Data Center Activities Task Force, they're training neighbors to comment at meetings and press for strict local regulations that might discourage new facilities.
