• Johnson and Geluck Earn OVC Weekly Honors (lindenwoodlions.com) — Lindenwood's women's volleyball team is heading to Champaign this Wednesday to face the Illinois Fighting Illini at 7 p.m., fresh off a 3-0 run at the NIU Invitational. Standouts Ashley Geluck and Kaci Johnson earned Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors for their blocking and setting, helping power the Lions' strong early-season record. 
• Bloomington TGI Fridays closes its doors permanently (centralillinoisproud.com subscription) — A longtime TGI Fridays at Bloomington's DoubleTree Hotel is closing permanently after its parent company, Fifth Day Restaurants, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Because Fifth Day also owns the TGIF in Champaign, the shutdown raises questions about the future of that location, though the company has not confirmed any additional closures yet.
