Eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 remain closed after a crash near Ridge Road killed one driver Friday afternoon.

MINOOKA, IL - A 27-year-old woman was killed Friday afternoon when two cars collided in traffic on Interstate 80 in Grundy County. The driver of a 2005 Chrysler mini van that rear-ended a 2017 Freightliner box truck as traffic came to a stop near the Ridge Road exit in Minooka at 12:15 p.m. was pronounced dead at the scene, Illinois State Police said in a news release. The victim was identified by State Police as Angela Dominguez of Bradley.
State Police said the driver of the mini van crashed into the rear of the Freightliner that came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of I-80. Both the driver, a 23-year-old Waukegan man, and a passenger in the Freightliner were not injured and refused medical treatment.
Illinois State Police District 5 troopers remained on the scene hours after the crash, which temporarily shut down all lanes of I-80 eastbound over Ridge Road. The Illinois Department of Transportation reported that the scene has been cleared and all lanes opened at 5 p.m.
