$1 Million Bail For Heroin Defendant Busted In Channahon

A 55-year-old woman who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada is now staying at the Will County Jail where she faces two felony drug charges accusing her of possessing methamphetamine and heroin. Channahon Police arrested Georgia Thompson on Dec. 21. Her bail has been set at $1 million.

The unlawful possession of a controlled substance charge on file at the Will County Courthouse indicates Channahon Police found in Thompson's possession "15 grams or more, but less than 100 grams of a substance containing heroin."

The second charge, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, states that Thompson "knowingly possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine."

Thompson needs to come up with $100,000 cash to post bond and get out of Will County's Jail. That has not happened yet. Her next court appearance is Jan. 17.
