26-Year-Old Woman Killed In Crash On I-55: Authorities
A second person was injured, police said.
CHANNAHON, IL — A 26-year-old woman died early Sunday following a crash on Interstate 55 in Channahon, according to authorities.
Melissa Prosser of Bourbannais was pronounced dead around 4:15 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Medical Center after the crash on the southbound interstate at mile marker 246, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
The incident involved two vehicles, one of which Prosser was driving, and occurred around 3:15 a.m., according to Illinois State Police, who said the other driver was also taken to a hospital with injuries.

Lanes were closed for more than five hours but had reopened by 8:45 a.m., state police said, adding the crash remained under investigation.
