• Giant Fire Consumes Channahon Family Of 4's House In Hunters Crossing Subdivision: Fire District (patch.com) — A pre-dawn fire on West Winding Oak Trail destroyed a Channahon family's home, though everyone and their pets escaped without injury. Multiple area departments helped battle the blaze, now deemed accidental, and Hive Kitchen in Channahon has launched a Hunters Crossing Fire Donations fundraiser to collect money and essentials for the displaced family of four.
   

• Led by 22 Rockford-area runners, who stepped up at First to the Finish? (rrstar.com) — Channahon's Ronald Lehman Community Park will host the Minooka Flights Races this Saturday, drawing top high school cross country teams from around Illinois. Rockford-area runners just tested themselves at Peoria's First to the Finish Invitational and now turn their focus to Channahon and then the Winnebago Invitational as the season intensifies.
