What kind of shoes did Cinderella wear?

If you answered glass, you're correct. But did you know she wore silver?

Silver was in the original story of Cinderella. Disney had her wearing glass slippers.

This question and more were part of the Three Rivers Public Library Fairy Tale Face-off on Thursday, July 14. Children from second, third and fourth grade were invited to answer questions about fairy tales. Questions were asked about Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Princess and the Pea and The Three Little Pigs.

Boys and girls made up two teams of five players. Contestants answered questions in a similar fashion as the game show Family Feud. The winner of the question than picks a case, similar to the game show Deal or No Deal, to reveal fake money.  The game went two rounds. The team with the most money at the end of the game is the winner.

The highest amount of money in a box was $250. Sarah Engle of Minooka was able to do it twice. 

“I had fun and I would do this again,” said Engle, age 9. “My favorite fairy tale is Cinderella.”

Caroline Giard, 7, of Minooka said she also had fun and would do it this event again. 

“My favorite fairy tale is Cinderella too,” said Giard.

In fact, most of the girls in attendance said their favorite fairy tale was Cinderella.

What is your favorite Fairy Tale? I like all of them, but if I had to choose one, I would choose Cinderella.
