
CHANNAHON, IL - A 42-year-old Channahon man was killed Friday night in Grundy County. Chief deputy Ken White said that deputies were alerted to the wreck at 5:42 p.m. The collision was at Route 47 and Gardner Road near Mazon. According to police, Robert Hogg drove through the stop sign at Route 47, colliding with a pickup truck carrying a 25-foot empty flatbed trailer. Mazon firefighters extricated Hogg from his car. Dwight emergency crews took Hogg to the Morris hospital where he died, White said.
There were three people in the pickup truck from Stanford, IL, and none of them were injured, police said. The fatality is being reconstructed by the Illinois State Police.
The Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. According to his published obituary, Hogg graduated from Joliet Catholic Academy in 1993 and he later graduated from Joliet Junior College in 2016. Hogg had lived in the Channahon area, but also showed an address in Dwight, Grundy County police said.
