Coroner IDs Channahon Snowmobile Victim

The fatality involved a snowmobile and a pickup truck on Friday afternoon in Channahon.

CHANNAHON, IL - The Will County Coroner's Office announced on Saturday morning that the victim of Friday's fatal snowmobile crash in the village of Channahon was Justin Craig. Coroner's officials identified him as a Channahon resident. Craig was operating a snowmobile over the lunch hour on Friday when he was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of Liberty Drive and South Tryon Street.

Craig was rushed by ambulance to Presence Saint Joseph's in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead. He was 38.

Channahon Police announced on Friday that no criminal charges were brought against the driver of the truck. An autopsy was going to be performed on Saturday.

Funeral home selection for Craig is still pending, the coroner's office reported. Craig was a dedicated snowmobile enthusiast. His Facebook page included several photos showing him enjoying the snowy weather on his snowmobiles.
