On April 29, 2013, children’s author Lisa Riebe will visit Three Rivers Public Library District, Minooka Branch, to speak to homeschoolers about the six traits of writing. Mrs. Riebe writes science fiction books for second through fourth graders. An experienced speaker, she excites students with personal stories and shares writing tips she’s developed during the creation of her children’s book series.
Her book, Pond Punkies – The Arrival, was honored as an Indie Book Awards Finalist and a Global eBook Award Winner. Midwest Book Review called it “that unusual creation, a science fiction work for middle grade readers,” saying “Action and dialogue move quickly and imagination is given full play in the unfolding saga. A safe prediction is that ‘Pond Punkie’ interest will rise and further books will result.”
