Joliet Man Charged With Crest Hill Shooting

The Joliet man failed to hit the guy he was aiming for but did manage to shoot up a couple cars, police said.

The Crest Hill cops nabbed a Joliet man wanted in connection with a gun attack in their town, police said.

Ex-convict Jaelyn Gant, 21, was arrested Tuesday and charged with the aggravated discharge of a firearm, possessing a firearm as a felon, the unlawful use of a weapon, and violating his parole.

Gant drove after another car and opened fire on it about 3 p.m. on Pioneer Road near Bicentennial Avenue, police said. He failed to hit the driver he was shooting at, police said, but did manage to put bullets in a couple cars.

Gant was apprehended in Joliet. He was carrying a gun when he was arrested, police said.

Gant was released from prison three weeks ago. He did time for burglary, possessing a stolen vehicle and knowingly damaging property.
