Joliet Man Charged With Robbing Couple at Knifepoint in Braidwood Park

A second man is wanted in connection with the May 31 robbery.

A Joliet man was jailed for allegedly robbing a couple at knifepoint in a Braidwood park.

Demonte X. Garrison, 21, was arrested Tuesday night and taken to the Will County jail.

Garrison and a second man accosted a couple in Old Smokey City Park about 9 p.m. on May 31, police said.

Garrison and his partner-in-crime demanded the couple’s money, police said, and when the male-half refused, one of the crooks pulled a knife. The man reportedly surrendered his jewelry and the two bandits fled.

Garrison’s alleged accomplice remains at large.
