JOLIET, IL — Ivan Davis, a known convicted drug dealer and a convicted pimp out of Joliet, was arrested early Sunday morning along with two female companions from New Lenox and Wilmington after Grundy County Sheriff's deputies used stop sticks on Interstate 55 to capture three of the four people in the stolen car out of Joliet.

According to Grundy Sheriff's officials:

  • Around 12:40 a.m., Grundy sheriff's deputies on overnight patrol received an alert from a FLOCK camera about a stolen vehicle from Joliet, in the area of Route 129 in Gardner.
  • A Grundy County deputy spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to stop it, and that's when the people in the stolen car took off and entered I-55 north bound.
  • A deputy put down the stop sticks on I-55 at milepost 233. The stolen vehicle hit the stop sticks and stopped a short time later. Four people bailed from the vehicle, and a Grundy County K-9 unit tracked and apprehended three of them:
  • Roxie A. Boling, 40, of Wilmington and her friend Melissa M Ferguson, 34, of New Lenox.
  • Also arrested was 42-year-old Joliet convicted pimp Ivan S. Davis. Joliet Patch has written numerous articles about Davis' criminal activity over the years.
  • One person remains at large.

On Monday, Sheriff Ken Briley told Joliet Patch that Davis and Boling both remain hospitalized and that deputies are hoping to interview Boling, perhaps as early as Monday afternoon, in hopes of determining the fourth person's identity.

Davis is now being charged with criminal trespass to a stolen motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

Will County court records also reflect that Davis was convicted in 2014 of the felony offense of promoting prostitution, otherwise known as pimping.

Between June 1, 2014, and July 17, 2014, Joliet Police determined that Davis "knowingly advanced prostitution in that (Davis) rented a hotel room" at the Rodeway Inn in the 1700 block of McDonough Street, the criminal complaint stated.
