Loyalty to one’s country is a crucial factor in the teachings of Islam. A Muslim must be loyal and obey the government, as it is said in the Holy Quran: “O ye who believe, obey God and obey the Prophet and obey those in authority,” (4:60). Even if you despise them, you must still be loyal, as they are the ones in authority above you. Those who have done acts of violence against their own country are not acting upon the teachings of Islam, because the Holy Quran forbids Muslims from creating disorder in the world. “Do not go about committing iniquity in the earth and causing disorder,” (29:37). God does not love those who create disorder.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community promotes peace around the world through various projects, such as holding blood drives and donating to organizations such as, to Humanity First. Our leader, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, gives speeches to countries’ governments encouraging the authorities to do justice and promote peace. So, I hope we will have a peaceful, happy celebration of the 4th of July!
