Kiesewetter said several factors helped him make the decision to take the job at MCHS.
“I admire the way MCHS focuses on educating the whole child, which is evidenced in the school’s diverse curriculum,” he said. “Academically, MCHS students have amazing opportunities to prepare for life after high school, no matter if it entails college, military service, or going directly into the workforce.”
“I also admire the way the faculty and staff have maintained such a caring and positive environment given recent changes within the district’s leadership,” Kiesewetter added. “Students are continuing to achieve at a high level, which says a lot about the quality of teachers and staff the school has.”
Kiesewetter said the community also played a determining role in his decision.
“My family (wife, Leigh; daughter, Lauren; and son, Sam) and I are really drawn to the local communities within District 111,” he said in a statement. “They have a small-town feel, yet it provide easy access to and are located near larger, metropolitan areas.”
Kiesewetter thanked the students, faculty, staff and parents of Yorkville High School for helping him get to this point in his career.
“Yorkville High School has a great faculty and staff,” he said. “I have learned a lot about education and about myself as a result of them and their passion for education. I have sincerely enjoyed my time with them, the students, and their parents, and wish them continued success into the future.”
