Local Business Awards Scholarships

Martin Whalen Office Solutions awards three high school students in its 75th Anniversary Scholarship Contest.

Three high school seniors are the winners of a scholarship in the Scholarship Contest. High School Seniors were asked to write a 1,000 word essay answering the simple question of “What will the office look like in 50 years?”

The winners are:

Eleanor Germano Kankakee High School
Luke Opoka Brother Rice High School
Wendy Zarate Valle

"We had 165 entries from more than 50 schools. If the essays are predictive of the future, the office and the ways that people work will be far different than today," Marty Whalen, President of said.

Martin Whalen Office Solutions is a third generation family owned office technology and furniture company with offices in Channahon, Tinley Park and Bradley, IL. Started by J.L. McGrath in Joliet in 1936, the company now employs 80 people and markets in the northeast Illinois region.
