Minooka Husband Sexually Assaulted Wife, Pointed Gun at Her: Police

The 57-year-old husband has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.

MINOOKA, IL — A 57-year-old Minooka man has been charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual assault after an investigation by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, on Sept. 14, deputies took a report for allegations of criminal sexual assault and ongoing domestic violence of a woman by her spouse.

“The alleged assaults took place over the course of the last several months at a residence located in the 3000 Block of Route 52, unincorporated Minooka. The victim alleged that during one of the assaults, her spouse pointed a handgun at her,” police said.

After an investigation, police charged Richard Cleveland, of Minooka, with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, one count of aggravated domestic battery and one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.

Cleveland remains in custody at the Kendall County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
