Minooka Man Accused In Orlando Kidnapping Attempt Released
The 23-year-old was jailed Sunday in Florida but a judge has since said there is not probable cause to hold him.

MINOOKA, IL -Fox News reports that a 23-year-old man from Minooka was taken away in handcuffs by Orlando Police after he allegedly grabbed a 9-year-old girl on Sunday and tried to harm her near the Harry Potter attraction at Universal's Orlando resort. He was released from jail Jan. 2 after a judge ruled there was not enough probable cause to hold him without bail on a kidnapping charge.
Authorities identified their kidnapping suspect as Jason Mikel. The incident happened at the Harry Potter attraction, Fox News reported
"A man touched her on the shoulder and told her to go outside and her mother was outside. She got scared and was able to get away from him and return to her mother," the television news station reported, citing the arrest affidavit lodged against Mikel.

According to WFTV-9, Mikel was released on his own recognizance but was given $500 bond on a battery charge and $100 bond for drug possession. He was also issued a trespass warning barring him indefinitely from all Universal Studios properties, Fox reported.
Mikel was also charged with possession of cannabis and battery. The state's attorney's office will determine whether kidnapping charges will be filed, according to WFTV.
