Minooka Police Looking for Man who Offered Bikes to Kids

The kids ran away from the man and police have been unable to locate him.

MINOOKA, IL — The Minooka Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a person for his “unusual sales tactics.”

Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer said that at around 2 p.m. Monday police received a call regarding an unknown white man between the ages of 35 and 40 who approached two young kids while he was riding a mountain bike.

Meyer said the man asked if they wanted the bike he was on or his daughter’s old bike that was in his vehicle. The kids ran away from the man and told their parents, who then called the police. The man rode away east on Rivers Edge Dr. toward the hill. Police attempted to locate the man by patrolling the neighborhood and through the surveillance system at Summit Park, but were unable to find him.
