Morris Man Dies After Being Ejected from Vehicle

The 58-year-old man crossed the center line and struck a semi-tractor trailer.

A 58-year-old Morris man died in a traffic crash at around 5 a.m. Monday, June 29 on Route 47 south of Spring Road, according to a release from the Grundy County Coroner’s Office.

Jerome “Jerry” Burns was traveling southbound on Route 47 when he crossed the center line and struck a northbound semi-tractor trailer. Burns was ejected from his pick-up truck and pronounced dead at the scene.

Grundy County Coroner John Callahan is investigating the incident.
