Name Released in Fatal I-80 Crash Near Route 47
The deceased 66-year-old woman was from Chicago.

The Grundy County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a woman who died in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 Sunday, June 28.
66-year-old Chicago resident Linda Baines died after a car entering I-80 eastbound from Route 47 cut off another car. The second car swerved off the roadway through the median and went airborne into the westbound lanes, where it struck three other vehicles, according to the Illinois State Police.

According to the Coroner’s Office, Baines was traveling eastbound when the crash occurred. She was transported to the Morris Emergency Room where she was pronounced dead.
Police were forced to close the interstate east of Illinois Route 47 in Grundy County at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Three people were taken to local hospitals.
A 34-year-old Morris man was ticketed for the crash, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Grundy County Coroner John Callahan said in a release that the crash is under investigation by the Illinois State Police and his office.
